Foods of Norway

There is one traditional Norway food that has become very popular internationally and that is smoked salmon. It is now one of Norway’s major exports,and is probably the most important contribution to international cuisine.


















Breakfast

Open sandwiches is generally eaten as part of breakfast, lunch a slice of fresh bread or a toast with different spreads, butter, cheese.






Fruit and desserts

Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and apple are popular and are part of a variety of desserts. Norwegians eat a lot of apple desserts with biscuits.







Breads

Breads is an important in the Norweigians diet. Norweigians regularly eat bread for breakfast and lunch.




Beverages


Coffee : Coffee plays a large role in Norwegian culture and it is common to invite people for coffee and cakes, and to enjoy cups of coffee with dessert after the main course in get-togethers. The traditional way of serving coffee in Norway is plain coffee, usually in mug rather than a cup.
